What is bacteriostatic water?
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol (9 mg per mL) added as a preservative. The benzyl alcohol holds back bacterial growth, which is why it comes in multiple-dose vials with a rubber stopper rather than single-use ampoules.
The outlet stocks it in three sizes: 3 mL, 10 mL and 30 mL. The 30 mL bottle is the cheapest per mL; the 3 mL vial suits small quantities.
